Site Control Privacy Policy
Acumen Light LLC, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Effective date: 19 October 2026
Site Control is an internal tool that Acumen Light LLC ("Acumen", "we") uses to operate the equipment in its own office in Dubai: the lighting, curtains and main door (Casambi), the Sonos speakers, the aroma diffuser and the Google Nest thermostat. It is not offered to the public. Only Acumen staff whom we have named in its settings can use it.
This policy explains what information Site Control handles, why, and who it reaches.
What Site Control collects
From Google (Nest thermostat). When an Acumen administrator connects the office thermostat, Google gives Site Control access through the Google Smart Device Management API to the thermostat the administrator chooses to share. Site Control reads the thermostat's name, room temperature, humidity, mode, temperature setpoints, Eco setting and whether it is heating or cooling, and it can change the mode, setpoints and Eco setting. It does not access the administrator's email, contacts, location history or any other Google data.
About staff who use the Telegram bot. For each authorised staff member: their Telegram user ID and a first name, entered by an administrator. When they send the bot a request, the text of that request and the bot's reply.
Activity records. A log of each command carried out (who asked, what was changed, and when), and a separate record of every main-door request, including refused ones.
Equipment information. Names and states of the office's lights, curtains, speakers and other devices. This is information about equipment, not about people.
How we use it
Only to operate and monitor Acumen's own office equipment when an authorised staff member asks, and to keep a record of door access and changes for security. We do not use it for advertising, profiling or any other purpose, and we do not sell it.
Who it reaches
- Anthropic. Requests sent to the bot, and the device readings needed to answer them (for example the current office temperature), are processed by Anthropic's Claude API to understand the request and write the reply. Anthropic does not use data sent through its API to train its models.
- Telegram. Messages to and from the bot pass through Telegram's service.
- Google, Casambi and Sonos. Commands to a device go to that device's own service or directly to the device over the office network or Bluetooth.
We share nothing with anyone else, unless the law requires it.
Google user data
Site Control's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Thermostat data is used only to show and control the office thermostat for the staff member who asked, is passed to Anthropic only to answer that request, is never used to train AI models, and is never sold or used for advertising. No person at Acumen reads it except to operate the thermostat or to fix a fault.
Where it is kept and for how long
The Google access token, the list of authorised staff and the activity and door records are stored on Acumen's own computer in the office, not in a cloud database. Conversations with the bot are held in that computer's memory only while it runs and are cleared when the bot restarts. Activity and door records are kept until an administrator deletes them.
Removing access
The administrator can disconnect the thermostat at any time from their Google Account (Security → Third-party apps with account access → Site Control) or by unlinking it in the Google Home app. Site Control then stops receiving any thermostat data. A staff member can ask the administrator to remove them from the bot and to delete their records.
